Tallinn
So, after a nice couple of days (and down two digital cameras) we headed north to Estonia's capital, Tallinn. This city was incredible...easily one of Europe's best kept secrets that I have found (other than Stockholm). The city was clean, friendly and had one of the nicest Old Towns these eyes have ever seen. I HIGHLY recommend anyone to go and check out this city. Anyway, enough advertising......lets get onto some photos shall we?

Our hostel was right in the middle of Old Town, so from the bus station we took the tram into the city center and followed a nice Estonian dude into Old Town. He didnt speak any English by the way. This is the view that we walked into.....

The next day we did some touring of Old Town. It is very big and has literally hundreds of cool buildings to see. This is the old prison...

This is a nice Church in the middle of Old Town.....
Im not too sure what this is, but it looks like some kind of old defense wall or something....
This is one of my favourite old Cathedrals in Old Town. You can definitely spot the Soviet influence in this one.....
The Royal Palace building.........
Me in front of the Canadian Embassy.........
A view of Old Town from one of the many lookout points........
This is where we had lunch one day. It is translated as 'Grandmas Kitchen'. They ACTUALLY had Wild Boar on the menu......I was tempted but didnt want to spend a lot of money on something as exotic as.....well, Wild bloody Boar.......
This was cool......for whatever reason some kids were walking through Old Town singing and dancing in old fashioned clothing.....pretty funny

This is an old military tower/museum nowadays. It is called "Kiek in de Kok" or "Peek into the Kitchen". Get your minds out of the gutter people!!!!!!!!!
For those of you who didnt notice, those are cannonballs still stuck in the side of the building. OOOOOOO SCARY!!!!!
OUUUUUUUUCHHHHHH
CANNNNNOOOOONSS!!!!!!!
The rack!!!! Anybody for a good stretch????

The tower had some amazing views from the many windows around it. Enjoy..........

Me, Amelie and Juliana taking in the views!!!
Juliana and I standing next to a cool statue. NO idea who this guy is/was......
Whepf! I would of fallen in if not for this well placed sign!!!
Another view of Old Town....
A nice young Estonian girl who sold us baked nuts covered in lots of spices. SO GOOD......
Night shot......
There was a lot of cool architecture in the city and in Old Town.......as you can see..........
We had a nice picnic on the beach on our last day.......twas quite nice....
A nice angel statue.........
You handsome devil you............
View of the city from the beach.......
This was a monument set up by the German government paying respect to Russian soldiers that lost their lives. The Estonian government obviously wants to get rid of this area since relations with the Russians arent that great at the moment. There was actually a protest about this when I was there..........I think someone was even fatally wounded while protesting about this......
The view walking up to the war monument area.......

Me, taking in the sights......
This looked to be an old battle area. There were actually HUGE craters everywhere you looked with pathways that have been grownover with grass so soldiers could get in and around the area without getting shot. This was my first time being in an area like this, so I thought it was really really cool......
An art museum.......
The old prison again......

I could of used one of these signs in Riga!!!! BOLLUCKS!!!!

My First Pro Fotball Match Live (No, I did not spell football wrong. That is just the Swedish Spelling....)
So, the business schools "Senior Buddy" program arranged for some of the exchange students to go and see a football match live at Stockholms Stadion. Stadion was home to a summer Olympics once....I believe it was in the early 1900's although I am not exactly sure of the date. Anyway, we went to see the hometown Djurgården Fotball Club take on Halmstads BK. Now, I know nothing about soccer and obviously even less about the standings in the Swedish league, so I took in this game merely to say that I had done it and for the cultural experience of course!!!

This is the view that you have when you are walking up to Stadion. It is a very old building, but it kind of has that Maple Leaf Gardens kinda feel. Very cool place to see my first match nonetheless....

Pretty easy translation I think......

Here are just some action shots during the game....Halmstads is a very bad team and even I could tell that. Djurgården ended up winning like 3-0 I think....

Djurgården SCOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRREEEEESSSS!!!!!

annnnnnnd they light fires and stuff.....

Dont really know why I took this photo, but I like it. So there........
